Admittedly, the weather was beyond perfect when I went for brunch with dear friends this past Sunday. So, perhaps my impression of the place is a bit slanted by that. But I truly think the ambiance of this place, the quality of the food, and the impeccable service would be equally as enjoyable on a rainy, dreary day too! We were a group of 5, and we sat in the esplanade area under the umbrellas and trees. The interior build out, the covered patio, and the esplanade seating...all completely picture post-card Paris! It couldn't be any more romantic. Just perfect. On Saturdays and Sundays, they run a 50% off rose special...any sized bottle!! We got a magnum for $58!! Swoon...I'll be back just for that! Almost everyone loved their dishes. I added a little salt to my tartare but that's my taste and I smoke. My friend didn't "love" her steak, but she didn't tell the waiter how she wanted it cooked, so that was really her fault. She LOVED the pomme frites and everything else. BTW, our waiter Oliver went out of his way for us. One friend ordered a custom butter and jalapeño sauce for her grilled octopus and chef obliged! We also split the beet salad, and the goat cheese croquette was so yummy that we ordered a plate of them! I had the escargot, which is oddly hard to find on menus anymore, and the steak tartare...both excellent. Cannot WAIT to bring people here and impress! I'm dying to try the soups, charcuterie and oysters.
